The background behind the practice

Twenty-five years of engineering leadership at Amazon, OJO Labs, Rackspace, and Bazaarvoice. Three IPOs, eight acquisitions. I've spent the last several years building and studying AI systems in depth. Backchain is where I take that combination of experience and bring it to organizations that need it but can't access it through traditional channels.

My practice is built on the principle that the right answer is the right answer, even when that answer is "not yet." If the data isn't ready, if the timing is wrong, if the ROI doesn't hold up, you'll hear it clearly and early.

Backchain exists because the question "should we use AI for this?" deserves a straight answer. I work with a small number of clients at a time, stay close to the actual work, and tell you what I actually think. That's the practice.
